Morning Light through the Trees

Here is another photo taken in Canberra, by Lake Burley Griffin. If you ever want to know exactly where I take these photos you can view the map location on my flickr page. Before I go on a trip somewhere I like to have at the very least a vague outline of where some beautiful scenery might be. Flickr maps is always a good place to start. Just type in your destination and sort the photos by "interestingness"!

Most of the shots I've taken with my Canon G9 have been taken at f4 which seemed to work well. The sensor on this camera is not incredibly fast so I tended to keep the aperture wide open to force quicker shutter times. I now shoot with a Nikon D90 which does a real nice a job. Even though the Canon is only a digital compact, some of my best photos were taken with it. This goes to show you can still take very good photos and not have to spend all that money on the latest and great gear.

Camera settings for this shot can be found on flickr here.
