Tokoriki Dream - A Tranquil Sunset

This place is possibly one of the most beautiful locations I’ve been to yet. Every evening we were spoilt by a stunning sunset. That evening I was so relaxed I nearly forgot to take a few shots! Looking just past the infinity pool, you can make out people sitting at dining tables. These tables were very popular and you'd have to book in advance to get them.

This photo was taken with my trusty Canon Powershot G9 - A humble compact digital that has Auto Bracketing. I opened up the aperture to F4 for this one. You know, choosing an aperture for a given scene often perplexes me to no end. I'm slowing learning this art and gradually developing the skill of reading the available light at the time. It also helps to looks at other great photographers photos in Flickr read the EXIF data to see what setting they use too - F8 seems to be very often used in landscape photography.

Camera settings for this shot can be found on flickr here.
